Description
We supply 100% compostable and biodegradable products, including food service and food packaging, that is sustainably produced from plants, not petroleum.
Our goal is to achieve the lowest possible "carbon footprint" from point of production to disposal. And by working with our suppliers, logistics operators, clients and waste management providers, we are developing comprehensive product stewardship plans for all products.
Our range includes:
TAKEAWAY CUPS & LIDS: 100% certified biodegradable & compostable paperboard outer, with heat-resistant PLA-lined cup & "clip-on" PLA lid for all hot beverages - a quality, healthy alternative to all disposable plastic-lined hot cups & plastic lids for your takeout coffee !
FOOD SERVICE: 100% certified compostable Sushi Trays, burger clams, hot chip cups, milkshake, smoothie cups, cold cups (all sizes, printable), salad containers, takeaway food containers, cutlery, drinking straws, etc.
FOOD PACKAGING: 100% certified compostable fresh produce bags, fruit & vegetable netting bags, sealing films, and other food packaging products.
OTHER: 100% certified compostable shopping bags, biro / pen cases, sunglass & spectacle frames, etc.

Efficient assessment
All products are made from annually-renewable plant resources. Many products include resin produced by Natureworks LLC, who are focussed on a continual reduction of all resources used to produce the resin including agricultural practices, energy use in production, and distribution. Eco-Express are committed to reducing resources & energy used in sourcing products, sales and marketing activities & product distribution by utilising the internet and direct logistics (where possible).
Social assessment
Eco-Express product suppliers include NZ & international businesses. Our international suppliers, based in Australia and Taiwan, use Natureworks LLC "Ingeo" brand resin and/or are accredited partners. Our business is currently working with a range of NZ logistics and waste management companies to develop product stewardship plans for all products, and is committed to providing a wide range of information about 100% compostable products and their disposal, via our website.
Safe assessment
All Eco-Express plant-based products supplied under the EFGLO brand are certified non-toxic and completely safe for food contact and composting under EN 13432, and a range of international Standards. There is no conventional petroleum plastic that can be certified non-toxic or chemical-free.
