The Arthotel providing bed and breakfast was established in 1994 as Auckland's first sustainable accommodation provider. It was the first Guest & Hosted accommodation in Auckland City to be awarded Qualmark's Enviro Gold award. This is the highest rating possible under Qualmark Green. Also the first to be in Lonely Planet's Greendex.
Stay in a heritage 1890s villa restored with flair and charm . Stroll to Ponsonby's vibrant cafes, restaurants, galleries and shopping. When you stay at the Great Ponsonby your car can stay in the car park as it is an easy walk or quick bus ride into the central city. The green Link bus runs every ten to fifteen minutes.

The Great Ponsonby Arthotel.
I visited New Zealand/Auckland twice and I stayed at the Great Ponsonby Arthotel both times. It is such a welcoming and friendly B&B and I would always check in there again. The area around Ponsonby is great with lovely cafes, bars and restaurants and it has easy access to the city. The room we stayed in was just wonderful in every detail and the breakfast was delicious. You can choose from a very good menu and everything is cooked and prepared fresh. It really made me feel like home although on the other side of the world.Thank you to the whole team for such a wonderful stay...
