Description
The EcoLodge is unique in NZ and Australasia - a working example of alternative building and waste technologies. Features such as the solar-electric power, the grey water wetlands and the use of locally milled timber all demonstrate the future of conservation education right here in South Canterbury.
The EcoLodge sleeps 22 people in 5 bunkrooms. There is a large lounge room and an adjoining north facing macrocarpa deck. In addition to the wood stove there is also a gas BBQ and gas hobs for cooking.
Set in 20 hectares of QE II covenanted bush, the EcoLodge is a peaceful oasis away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
