Sustainable Coastlines is a registered New Zealand charity that recently conducted a coastal clean-up on Aotea/Great Barrier Island. The charity, which was founded by kiwis while travelling in the Galápagos Islands, will conduct further coastal clean-ups in New Zealand and overseas, using their work in Aotearoa as an example for developing communities that have waste management problems affecting their coastlines. Sustainable Coastlines already has events planned for the future, including Tonga in late July and Gisborne after New Years Eve 2010. Because the Great Barrier event was such great success, we decided to strike while the iron is hot and put on a cracking fundraising party here in Auckland City, to make more of these events possible. Please come along, support the cause and join us to TOAST OUR COAST.
