Abilities Group is a North Shore based non-profit organisation that provides an inspiring and safe working environment for people with disabilities. Over 50 years of operation, many hundreds of people with disabilities and their families have enjoyed and continue to benefit from the Abilities Group and the opportunity to work.
The Abilities Group supplies a contract labour force to manufacturers, distributors, importers, exporters, retailers and many other commercial sectors. We provide a reliable and cost effective labour pool that will undertake a variety of work. Businesses often use our services when looking for cost effective and immediate solutions and to overcome internal bottlenecks.
We operate as a commercial enterprise by providing a range of technical services:
PACKAGING (Shrink-wrapping, sorting, folding, labelling, packing, re-packaging)
RECYCLCING (Paper, cardboard and plastic, contract environmental management)
E-CYCLING (End of life computers, CRT monitors, TVs, electronic equipment)
SECURE DESTRUCTION (Safe and reliable destruction of confidential data, full security destruction and shredding)
PCB ASSEMBLY (Full service PCBA manufacturing, Specialisation in small to medium runs and prototypes)
MEGATRONICS ASSEMBLY (mechanical assembly, light electro-mechanical assembly)
We take pride in producing good quality work. Being ISO9001:2008 certified, we have a continuous improvement culture where all individuals are responsible to do a good job. All work is regularly checked for quality and alerts raised at the first sign of any problems. Our Environmental Management System is under development and expected to be certified to the Ecowarranty Standard by February 2012.
Sustainability-based principles inform all decisions and activities and our Sustainability Committee’s focus is on finding new ways to improve our social, environmental and economic responsibility.
