Description:
Discover one of the world’s premier military aviation collections at the Air Force Museum of New Zealand; from aircraft, engines and assorted displays to medals, pin-ups and parachute-silk wedding dresses.

Whether you are planning to visit Christchurch for Rugby in 2011 or you are simply looking to enjoy everything New Zealand has to offer, be sure to include us on your tour itinerary. Come and marvel at our collection of classic aircraft, be inspired by the bravery of present and past servicemen, servicewomen and their families, fly a simulator, take a guided tour and step back in time in a replica 1940’s home. Your journey through the Air Force Museum of New Zealand will be something very special.

Enjoy it more on our TOURS! You can explore the Air Force Museum yourself, but the best way to enjoy it fully is on one of our guided tours. For family fun on the weekends sign on for the Air Force Adventure, view our ‘Reserve Collection’, climb aboard vintage aircraft and see our aircraft restoration projects in action on our daily Behind the Scenes Tours, catch one of our daily screenings of authentic wartime footage with Reeling Back Time: Films from our Archives or have a go flying over the Norwegian Fiords in our authentic WW2 Mosquito bomber cockpit!

At the Air Force Museum we understand that all activities create environmental and social impacts. We are no exception. Where we have control, and influence, we actively promote ways in which we can minimise adverse effects by reducing waste, being energy efficient, conserving water, recyling materials and providing assistance to our community. The Air Force Museum of New Zealand is also the first museum in New Zealand to be awarded the Enviro-Silver standard by Qualmark, New Zealand tourism's official Quality Agency and is also a taking part in the Christchurch City Council's Target Sustainability.
