Luxury boutique accommodation nestled above Akaroa Harbour. We grow our own fruit & vegetables on site based on a permaculture system. The extensive garden is a combination of native and exotic plantings designed to encourage birds & fauna. The continuous removal of pest plant species & enhancing of native regrowth is providing areas of self regeneration and as stock for planting other areas. A reduce, re-use, recycle programme has been in place for many years. The design and renovation of the guest area has been done using existing materials when possible and to maximise energy efficiency and comfort. We support Trade Aid but use NZ made choices when possible. Our laundry is done on site with sun & line drying when possible. We have energy use minimisation policies and programmes.
